Born to touch
a generation.
The Pumeza Mngambi Foundation was established in memory of Pumeza Mngambi, whose life and values continue to inspire the work. Today, PMF creates pathways for young South Africans through exposure, skills development, mentorship, entrepreneurship support and access to opportunity.

The Founding Story
A legacy
becomes a movement.
"My sister's life shaped a community. PMF is how we honour that, by building futures for the next generation."
Linda Mngambi founded the Pumeza Mngambi Foundation to honour the memory of his sister, Pumeza, and to carry forward a legacy of care, dignity, service and community upliftment. What began as a deeply personal commitment has grown into a platform that connects young people with practical support, networks and opportunity.
The work began in Soweto and now reaches across the country as a national platform for youth empowerment. PMF connects young South Africans to careers, mentorship, learnerships, entrepreneurship support and the systems that change the shape of a life.
Pumeza's legacy is not a memory. It is a method.
Philosophy
I am because
we are.
Ubuntu is not decoration. It is our operating system. Every programme, partnership and decision begins with the dignity of the young person in front of us, and the community that holds them up.
Our Mission
Three pillars.
One generation.
Access
We open doors that were previously closed: doors to careers, capital, education and decision-makers.
Opportunity
We translate ambition into outcomes through learnerships, mentorship and real workplace experience.
Legacy
We build systems and partnerships that outlast the moment and shape the next decade of African youth.
The Foundation
A clear identity.
A focused mission.
01
Who PMF is
The Pumeza Mngambi Foundation is a registered South African non-profit company building pathways between ambition and opportunity for young people. We work as a connector, between youth and institutions, between potential and the systems that can support it, and between communities and the partners who can stand alongside them.
02
Why PMF was founded
PMF was founded to honour Pumeza Mngambi's life by extending her legacy of care, dignity and service into structured youth empowerment. Her values, that every young person deserves to be seen, supported and given a real chance, sit at the centre of every decision the Foundation makes.
03
Who PMF serves
We serve young South Africans, with a particular focus on Soweto and surrounding communities. This includes learners still in school, young people studying further, those looking for work, those building their first CV, and those exploring entrepreneurship as a path forward. PMF is for the young person who is ready, but has been waiting for an opening.
04
What PMF does
Our work spans skills development, career exposure, learnership pathways, mentorship, entrepreneurship support and the annual PMF Youth Expo. We design experiences that meet young people where they are and connect them to the institutions, employers and mentors who can move their futures forward.
